Over the year we support a wide range of charities both locally and abroad. Through Compassion we sponsor a child in Kenya called Ken Daniel Weda. We write to him regularly and provide £23 each month for his schooling and family. He writes to us too. Please see the letters in the folder.
Our Lent Lunches this year supported Family Care, a diocesan run charity that offers care to families in great need, where children may be at risk or there are medical problems. Our collections from Harvest will also help to support the work of Family Care
We also used half of the money from our Lent Lunches to provide a chaplain for the new university that is to open in Peterborough. Last year we supported chaplaincy at the prison.
Samaritan’s PurseEach Christmas we fill shoeboxes to send off “Love in a shoebox” to children in Eastern Europe who otherwise would not have presents to open on Christmas Day. If you wish to fill a shoebox, leaflets are available at the back of church with all the details you need.
Each Lent our Children’s Society boxes are emptied. If you would like a collection box please contact June Kirk.
This month, two of our congregation, Barbara and Hugh Robinson, set off on a trek through Nepal in aid of the Leprosy Mission. Please sponsor them.
St Teresa’s Centre in Peterborough will receive gifts from our Harvest Festival produce.
This list illustrates just some of the ways in which we aim to be “good Samaritans” at All Saints’ Church. Thank you for your generous support.
